Innovation Lab

Ancient Healing.With Clinical Rigor.

Modern techniques and research embracing centuries of indigenous practice.

The Innovation Lab

The Innovation Lab is Kaleidoscope's research center. It exists to study what surrounds the medicine — how preparation, facilitation, and integration are built and held so that healing lasts — and to submit that work to independent scientific scrutiny. Our research is conducted in partnership with the Open Psychedelic Evaluation Nexus at Oregon Health & Science University, one of the country's leading academic medical centers.

The molecule gets the headlines. The container facilitates the healing.

Most psychedelic research studies the molecule. Understanding the biochemistry and safety are laudable but answer only the small questions. Dosage, frequency, drug with a focus on avoiding adverse events. Important, but insufficient.

We start by asking a foundational question: What must surround the medicine? Physically, emotionally, spiritually. Intentional preparation. Reverent facilitation. Sustained integration. That's the container.

We're on the quest for what optimizes and sustains the healing; that principle is what motivates our research.

Healing trauma isn't just about a safe peak experience. Transformation occurs along a carefully constructed arc of healing — built deliberately and held long enough for something permanent to happen inside it. That container is what we build at Prana Del Mar. It is what the Innovation Lab exists to study and reveal.

The research partnership

Truth in science: built to discover, not to prove.

Kaleidoscope has established a research arrangement with Open Psychedelic Evaluation Nexus/Oregon Health & Science University, one of the country's leading academic medical centers. OPEN/OHSU brings what any serious claim requires: independent study design, validated measurement, and a path to peer-reviewed publication.

We design and hold the container. OPEN designs the study, collects and synthesizes the data.

We did not build the Innovation Lab to prove we are right. We built it because we intend to make large claims about what is possible in healing — and claims that size should be answerable only to the objective truth.

What we measure

Their language, and ours.

We measure what medicine recognizes: drinking days, PHQ-9, GAD-7, safety through the retreat and long after it. We measure those because our results have to be legible to the clinical world, in a lexicon it already knows.

We use that bridge to call attention to what we believe matters beyond the focus on the molecule: measuring resilience, emotional mastery, meaning, connection, growth — whether the life you build after Kaleidoscope holds. Not whether the ceremony was profound. Whether the profundity lasted.

If you come to Kaleidoscope

Participation is invited, never required, and never a condition of your care. Nothing about your healing is designed around the study.

The study is designed around your healing.
